SMC Alumni become Benedictine Novices

On August 22, Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Dr. Andrew Childs, Administrative Dean of St. Mary’s College, and Fr. John McFarland, Prior of Our Lady of Sorrows in Phoenix, Arizona and former SMC Professor, travelled to Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery in Silver City, New Mexico to witness three SMC alumnae take the Benedictine habit. Sr. Mary Domatilla (Marie T., SMC ’19 ), Sr. Mary Christine (Katie G., SMC ’21), and Sr. Mary Genevieve (Bridget E., SMC 2013) join four other SMC graduates in the St. Joseph Monastery house, making seven of the twelve Sisters SMC alumnae. His Excellency Bp. Bernard Fellay officiated the clothing ceremony. We thank God for this miracle of generosity in which the College so proudly played its small part.
