Mr. Andrew Clarendon

Biography

Andrew Clarendon, whose primary focus is on late medieval and early modern literature, especially Dante and Shakespeare, teaches lower and upper-level Literature courses. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in English with Merit and a minor in Spanish, he also earned an M.A. in English from The Catholic University of America. After serving onboard two surface ships and returning to the Naval Academy as an Instructor of English, he left the Navy in 2005 to become one of the founding faculty members of Notre Dame de La Salette Academy in Olivet, Illinois where he was the head of the English Department. In 2010, he and his family moved to St. Marys where he has taught a variety of courses in the Academy and College. He is the editor of two books published by Angelus Press: Selections from The Canterbury Tales and Masterpieces of English Poetry. In addition to presenting a paper at the College English Association Conference in 2003, he has written numerous articles for The Angelus magazine and has contributed to The Remnant newspaper. He is a regular speaker at the annual Angelus Press Conference and for the McCabe Theater Lecture Series. Since 2012, he has been the Director for the Flint Hills Shakespeare Festival.
